Pylon & Monument Signage

A pylon sign is your tallest, most visible landmark — the sign people see from the road before they see your building. Magno Tanzania designs, fabricates and installs freestanding pylon and monument signage: steel-framed structures with ACP or illuminated faces, built to stand for years in the Tanzanian climate.

Pylon types we build:

  • Standard Pylon — steel frame with ACP (Alucobond) faces and vinyl branding.
  • Illuminated Pylon — internal LED lightbox with translucent acrylic face, glowing at night.
  • Digital LED Pylon — with electronic price digits or a full LED screen, ideal for fuel stations.
  • Monument Sign — low, solid, masonry-and-ACP entrance signage for estates and offices.
  • Directory Pylon — multi-tenant sign for business parks, malls and medical centres.

Every pylon includes:

  • Engineered steel structure, primed and powder-coated against rust.
  • A choice of face — flex, ACP (Alucobond), acrylic lightbox or powder-coated steel.
  • Single or double-sided, from 2m up to 8m and beyond.
  • Optional LED illumination, lightbox, or digital price/display modules.
  • Foundation design and professional installation.
  • Free site survey and a 3D visual before fabrication.
  • Weather-, wind- and UV-resistant for long outdoor life.

Faces, Illumination & Structure

A pylon's cost and impact come down to three things: how tall it is, what the face is made of, and whether it's illuminated.

Face Material

  • Flex Face — printed banner tensioned in a frame; the most economical, good for large areas.
  • ACP / Alucobond — rigid aluminium composite with vinyl graphics; the durable standard.
  • Acrylic Lightbox — translucent face that glows evenly when internally lit.
  • Powder-Coated Steel — solid fabricated letters and panels for a premium monument look.

Illumination

  • None — daytime visibility only, lowest cost.
  • LED Spotlights — external floodlighting onto the face at night.
  • Internal Lightbox — LEDs behind an acrylic face for an even, bright glow.
  • Digital LED Module — programmable price digits or a video screen (fuel stations, promotions).

Structure & Installation

We engineer the steel frame and foundation to suit the height and local wind conditions. Installation covers excavation, a reinforced concrete foundation, erecting the structure and connecting power for illuminated units. For remote sites we quote transport and access as part of the survey.

Why a survey matters: pylon pricing depends on ground conditions, foundation depth, power availability and permits. The estimator here gives a budget range; the survey turns it into a firm quote. Book a free survey on WhatsApp.

How to Order a Pylon Sign

Pylon signage is a build project, so it runs a little differently from our off-the-shelf products:

1. Estimate Your Budget

Use the estimator to configure your pylon and get an indicative price, so you know the ballpark before you commit.

2. Free Site Survey

We visit the site (or review your photos), check ground, power and access, and produce a firm quote plus a 3D visual of the sign.

3. Fabricate & Install

On approval we fabricate in our workshop, prepare the foundation, and install and commission the pylon on site.

Information we'll need:

  • Site location — town/road, and photos of the spot if possible.
  • Height & sides — how tall, and single or double-sided.
  • Illumination — none, lit, or digital price/display.
  • Branding — your logo/artwork (vector preferred) and brand colours.
  • Power & permits — is power available on site; any council approval needed.

Lead Time & Installation

How long does a pylon take?

Typical lead time is 3-4 weeks from approved design and deposit — covering steel fabrication, face production, foundation and installation. Digital LED pylons and imported components can take longer. Express fabrication is available for urgent openings.

Installation coverage

We install throughout the Lake Zone and, on quotation, nationwide. Typical reach:

  • Geita (our base) — full survey, fabrication & installation.
  • Mwanza, Shinyanga, Kahama — standard installation coverage.
  • Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Dodoma, Mbeya — installation on quotation.
  • Remote sites & fuel-station networks — transport & access quoted with the survey.

Maintenance

We offer servicing for illuminated and digital pylons — LED replacement, face re-branding and structural checks — to keep your sign looking new.

Planning a new branch or station? Talk to us early — pylons need lead time for foundations and permits, and it lets us align the opening date.
